Systems Engineering - Industry and Sponsorship

Sponsorship

Programme Sponsorship
To ensure the relevance and quality of its content, BAE Systems, Frazer-Nash and SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems substantially sponsor the degree both financially and in the provision of equipment, lecturers and guest speakers. This intimate involvement includes working in partnership with lecturers to constantly refine and develop the curriculum and how it is taught. In this way the programme is always kept up to date and relevant to current working practices and needs.

Individual Sponsorships
In addition to sponsoring the course itself, all three companies
- BAE Systems, Frazer-Nash and SELEX - offer generous individual bursaries - up to £1500 a year while you are studying - and paid work placements to students. For more information, contact John Hooper [profile - new window].

Prizes

Each year there are a number of prizes donated by companies keen to support this programme. We are delighted with the commitment and interest shown by BAE Systems, National Instruments and Qinetiq who all generously award cash prizes each year for outstanding work in group projects and for individual attainment. Having a company placement between the second and third year of study is an integral element of all engineering programmes at Loughborough.

Although it is not compulsory, the financial and academic advantages to you are significant. The department provides considerable resources to help you find a suitable position, and we have excellent relations with a wide range of companies.

We have a full-time tutor who liaises with companies to assist in the initial placement and to monitor your progress throughout the placement period.
